The Museum has two play areas – one indoor and one outdoor. Both play areas are unique and built specifically for the Danish Railway Museum by the Danish play area specialist Monstrum.
The large outdoor play area has a huge steam engine built in wood. Children may climb into the fifteen-metre steam engine which has an instrument panel, firebox, combustion chamber and ashpan. The play area also has an eight-metre water tower from which there are two slides.
The Museum’s indoor play area has a Children’s Railway Station which is a child-sized railway station. Here our youngest visitors can pretend being the engine driver; they can sell tickets, travel to far-away places and much more.
