The Easter holidays offer experiences for the whole family
Take a trip on our beautiful vintage bus around Odense and hop aboard the popular mini train. Explore the large, fascinating locomotives and carriages, let the kids build for hours with DUPLO bricks. And if you need a break, take a trip to our outdoor playground and relax in the lovely spring weather. We are open every day 12-21 April from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children (0-17 years) have FREE access.
Easter holidays with anniversary celebrations
This Easter there are several exciting Easter activities for the whole family - and this year it's extra special! The Danish Railway Museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a festive programme. The anniversary year kicks off on 11 April with the opening of our anniversary exhibition. On 17 April, we will mark the anniversary itself with admission prices as in 1975, birthday cake, bus rides and fun activities for both children and adults. Later in the year, there will be an anniversary weekend in June, a special exhibition about the Orange Tractor in September and exciting lectures with Clement Kjersgaard and Jakob Stegelmann in the autumn.
Travelling around Odense by vintage bus
Experience Odense with a coach from when grandad was a child. The veteran bus runs every day during the Easter holidays from 10:00-15:00. Boarding and alighting takes place in front of the museum's large glass facade. The journey lasts approximately 30 minutes and is free of charge when the entrance fee to the museum is paid
Get a ride on the mini train
Hop aboard for a ride on the popular mini train. You'll travel outdoors and pass the old Bridge, a ferry and a station town. The tour starts at Copenhagen Central Station. Departures are every day between 9.15-15.30 and the journey lasts approximately 5 minutes.
Build with DUPLO for hours
Master locomotive builder Busse has brought out the big boxes of DUPLO. The cobblers love playing with DUPLO and they're eager to help build fun, beautiful and quirky tracks. There's a mountain of rails, switches and train sets as well as lots of regular bricks to build stations, station towns and much more
Easter with the Cobblers
The cobblers welcome spring with high spirits, games and Easter fun. Solve puzzles and cut out Easter cards in the company of the six cute cobblers.
Fun experiences for the little ones
Visit the Children's Railway Station - a railway station in child size. Here kids can play train driver, sell tickets and travel the world. Fun for the youngest children.
Trains fascinate children and adults
Take a look at the big locomotives and beautiful carriages. Discover the orange tractor from ‘The Olsen Gang on the track’, the royal carriages and the huge snow plough. There's enough to keep the whole family entertained for hours
Food and drink
The Food Stall is ready in the museum's café every day from 10-15 with light snacks and sandwiches. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drink. There are tables both indoors on the balcony by tracks 16-19 and outdoors by the mini train.
