Activities for the whole family
We have activities for the whole family during the summer holidays. Ride vintage trains, vintage buses and miniature trains. Hear about the red express train and our big turntable. All activities are included in the price of admission. We are open daily from 09:00 to 17:00.
ODIN at full steam
Hop on board when we whistle for departure every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and run vintage trains at full steam on the museum’s own line. We depart every half hour between 10:30 and 15:30, except for 12:30, when the driver stops for lunch. A trip lasts approximately 10 minutes and is free once you have paid for admission to the museum.
A ride on the vintage bus
A fun experience for the whole family The vintage bus runs every Monday, Friday and Sunday during the summer holidays between 11:00 and 16:00. You can board and alight from the bus in front of the museum’s large glass facade. The trip lasts approximately 20 minutes and is free once you have paid for admission to the museum.
Learn about the red express train
The Old Little Belt Bridge and the red express train revolutionised rail operations in Denmark. Learn all about their history and see the inside the red express train, which is not normally open to the public. Daily at 11:45 & 15:15.
Take a ride on the miniature train
Hop aboard the miniature train and enjoy a fun and child-friendly ride. The popular miniature train is for both children and adults Departures are between 9:15 and 16:30 every day, and a trip takes about 5 minutes.
Turntable show
The Danish Railway Museum is housed in a roundhouse built in 1954. There are 21 tracks at the depot. We sometimes move equipment from one track to another. Learn more and see the turntable in action. Daily at 10:45 & 14:15.
